i have now installed, uninstalled, reinstalled....device manager 4 times, trying to copy my blackberry 8110 files to my computer so i can reformat and then reinstall the operating system. the problem is that i have no idea where the program - dm - is being installed on my computer so that i can start copying my files. i have searched for a new directory or new group or an executable program and nothing is showing up. i desperately need to get this info saved and the operating system reinstalled so my phone works again. thanks in advance for any help

Are you installing it from a disc or from BB website? I've never seen it not install and normally it makes a desktop shortcut as well

I suspect you may have confused BlackBerry Desktop Manager with BlackBerry Device OS software, easy to do becasue of the similarity in the software version numbering system.

The simple way to verify, Windows / Control Panel / Programs.

BlackBerry Desktop Software and BlackBerry Device software will be displayed.

    The direct answer is:

BlackBerry Desktop Software is installed at:

    c:\program files\reseach in motion\desktopmgr.exe

BlackBerry Device Software is installed at:

    c:\program file\common files\research in motion\shared\loader files\ ...
