When i open my phone the backlight doesn't come on! I can hardly see anything, but i managed to get to the options menu and the backlight is set to on. I've tried taking out the battery, i dont know what else to do! any suggestions?

Reinstall the Handheld Software found on the BlackBerry website.
(I reinstalled my BIOS on my laptop when that happened and it fixed it)
If that still doesn't work, take it back if you have a plan.
Thanks for the suggestion, i'll give that a try! I do have a plan. so if nothing works i can always take it back
