My Pearl 8130 has suddenly stopped muting SMS notifications while on "vibrate" (i.e., rather than just vibrate it also plays the notification sound). I went into my profile settings for Vibrate>SMS and everything appears to be in order. Does anyone know how to fix this?
Are you certain that you have the profile turned on? You could try doing a battery pull. With your phone on, remove the battery for 30 seconds, then put it back in. Also, are you using a holster with a sleeper magnet? You can apply different settings for in holster, and out of holster.
Yeah it sounds like something got messed up. My 8703 started to do that too. It would play the ring tone that was set for normal in holster when it was out of the holster and set to vibrate. A battery pull cleared it up though. Good luck.

if you create a new profile so that you can have custom sms alerts as exceptions on your active profile, putting the phone in vibrate will not silence the alerts, one downside to that.
