While I have saved multitap as the input language on several occasions, the phone switches without any pattern back to Suretype. Anyone running into this issue?

i dont mess with multitap.. i like suretype.. give suretype a chance.. i didnt like it at first but it beats multitap, imo.

i believe the phone will default back to surtype after (say) a battery pull...

yep as db said, for some reason it reverts back to SureType randomly after X amount of time or a reboot. I guess the 8130 really wants us to use ST

You are not going crazy. I have to reset mine about every other day. Wassup? Worse yet, I never wrote down how to reset so I always have to call.

I found an easier way to enable suretype on this site.

"open any message or email field and click the menu key (the little blackberry to the left of the trackball) and scroll down to enable multitap..."

Funny, no one at Verizon knows this short way of doing it.
