I recently just purchased the Blackberry Pearl from AT&T and part of the reason I got it was because I thought I would be able to connect to the internet on my PC. I have Desktop Manager on the computer and I connect it using USB, but it doesnt work. Am I supposed to do something else to be able to use the Blackberry as a modem? Help.

just reread the original post ... are you trying to get WiFi on the Pearl or are you trying to use the Pearl as a modem for your laptop? ... you refer to both so its a little confusing ...

Sorry guys. I need internet on my computer. I need to be able to use the Pearl to do it, if possible. I know that some of the Pearls have the ability to be used as a modem and I want to know how and if mine can do it. I think my model is the 8100 but I am not sure. Please help if you can. Thanks.

You need to connect in at&t connection manager it will setup a connection on your computer called GSM and the manager will use this to connect

I tried that last night and it showed me available Wi-Fi networks, but they were all asking for Network Keys. When I tried one that I thought I knew, it didnt work. I wouldn't let me connect using GSM. What exactly do I have to do to be able to connect that way?

OK 1. connect 8100 via usb unless you use bluetooth.
    2. open Desktop Manager make sure it says connected.
    3. open at&t Communication Manager and see if it says ready if it dose not click on tool>device wizard run this exactly step by step(step 1 unplug 8100then click next,step2 select blackberry let it run then plug in 8100 and click next, now click finish) now go to at&t Communication Manager and click connect
