    Hello all,

I am trying to unlock my Pearl 8100. T-Mobile gave me instructions, which match the instructions that I have found on about a dozen different websites.

    (Basically, they are these:
Ensure a SIM Card is inserted
    Go to Manage Connections
Click on Turn All Connections Off
    Go to Options
    Click on Advanced Options
    Click on SIM Card
Type MEPPD (letters will not appear on-screen but a menu will pop up.)
Type MEPP2′ (*Note- for Telus, use MEPP4. You will be prompted to enter MEP code)
Enter the unlock code (CONFIRM you get Code Accepted message)
    Reboot device
    Go to Manage Connections
    Click on Restore Connections
    Device is now unlocked)

When I enter MEPP2, no dialogue box appears for me to enter the unlock code! I have tried every variation... ALT key, no ALT key, etc.

I have tried this in three different countries now (including the US), and I can't get it to work... I have watched youtube tutorials to no avail, and T-Mobile has (unsurprisingly) been no help.

Does anyone have ANY idea what the problem could be? I am desperate!

    Thank you!

Follow up: Network is listed as "disabled"... does this mean the phone is already unlocked? I am so confused.

That is correct. If all say disabled then it is unlocked.

Hmm... any theories as to why it's not working?

Make sure that the device is unlocked, all fields should be disabled.
    what exactly isn't working?

In the link below are instructions by Pete6 that I am absolutely certain will work. Why? Because I have followed these instructions and they did work for me on my 8100.

I think your problem was entering MPPD when you need to type <Alt>MEPD and <Alt>MEP2 (or <Alt>MEPE) which is the same thing on an 8100.

Note that these are not case sensitive.
