hi there

i love my BB pearl its a lovely little phone.
however, as of this morning, i am trying to type a SMS, and i cant even get in there.
when i click the trackball on the sms icon, it goes to the phone and types n 'x'
the 'backup' button, the one next to the hangup red button, now types a '*'
the numbers pretty much work, but 7,8 and 9 were typing v
'x7' for all 3 of them

this kind of makes the phone completely useless..

anyone have any ideas..?
i have popped out the trackball given it a bit of a clean.. but no luck

yes i did, the first thing i tried, then took the trackball bit out, had a look at that.. but still getting the same thing

also the app blackberry button is doing '*' instead of anything else

I suspect you have a defective keyboard. It is rare, but it does happen. It should be eligable for a warranty exchange.
