Ya, kinda sucks but you can't turn off the sound. At least that is how it is on my curve I am guessing that it is the same on the flip. Welcome to CB though.

I use "Berryannoying". It's 3.95 but worth it. Takes out the annoying sound.

Strange though, it says it's not compatable with the Blackberry Flip, but it works OK on mine??

The reason many manufacturers don't allow the noise to be turned off is security paranoia. Say you are at a cash register & want to pay by credit card. Some jerkward tries to take a pic of your card number and the shutter sounds. Now they will get their @$$ kicked. However, if the noise was off, we would have no clue. I think that its a good idea to have the sound on...

BerryAnnoying does work with my 8220. No more shutter sound!

Now if only the picture quality could be as good as that of my Motorola KRZR. . .

Yeah, I don't think you can turn off the sound. I searched around other forums and the answer is a definite 'no'. I can kind of see the point, it would make sense for security reasons to NOT allow the sound to be turned off.

Shutter sound is off if you are on a call (for instance calling your own voicemail), or get the app. Huge heated discussion about this on another crackberry forum.
