As the originator of this thread i am glad to hear that I am not th only one with this problem. I ordered a 8100 trackball from cnn.cn and love it. It makes things much easier to scroll around and navigate. I am very happy that I changed it out.

never had the 8100, but when i got my 8130 it was gritty then stopped working down and left, got a new ball online and it's real smooth, works great.

So I got my trackball from CNN.cn.
I ordered a 8100 trackball for my 8130.
I put it in, and it works amazingly. It's like silk, it's so sexy.

Also, it's much more responsive. I had my sensitivity at 80, had to turn it down to 60 to accommodate the new ball.

So happy, completely worth $10.

PS. The ring that comes with the 8100 trackball fits ok in the 8130, but not perfectly. If you put the old ring in, it works much better. Im in love!

how did anyone who uses cnn.cn find their service and such, they seem really reputable, but being overseas did you find they are slow or whateever? anyone in canada use them? I just ordered a trackball from blackberry8100parts.com and the service is amazing!!!!

After reading the posts, I decided to jump in on a trackball from Blackberry8100parts.com, can't wait...not really feeling this gritty trackball that sometimes takes a couple of touches for it to scroll down. Thanks for the tip guys!

just in case anyone wants to know, blackberry8100parts.com is great. I got the replacement trackball and installed it and its super smooth, much smoother than the original, I love it and great great great customer service!

I ordered 2 trackballs! Ack. 1 from eBay and one from CNN after i read this thread. I dont like my gritty ball! And it gives me problems scrolling down - gets stuck. Thanks to all for the great info here.

I've been annoyed with mine lately, but not to the point of actually ordering a replacement. I should probably just bite the bullet and fix it already.
