When I'm texting why does the the entire conversation show up again with every reply?

Its a form of threaded txting. Many smart phones have it as a feature.

Is there a setting to change this? I just don't like to have a whole list of replies to delete after every conversation.
It also seems like old conversations show up when I BB message someone that. Not sure why this is. Doesn't seem to be everytime. Confused.........me to.
