Here is what you should expect when you walk into the stuffy hot crowded store:

    1. Available in Gradient Red only.
    2. 549.00 full price (absurd)
    3. 249.00 upgrade price with $100 rebate (AT&T debt card)
    4. Does NOT come loaded with OS6. Had: v5.0.0.921 - Platform (IMEI starts with 3519) ** Boot up time from a battery pull or a reboot from app store is 50 seconds. HUGE improvement my old pearl took 10 minutes.

    5. Comes with a 2GB SD card, Mini wall USB charger, micro USB data cable and junky headset.
    6. AT&T staff have no knowledge of this phone or even care that it was released today. So you may have to show them where it is in the store. lol

    See pics

It's no different from the previous model we've seen, a clone of the rogers phone.

I like the red metal battery back plate, very sharp. I really am happy with it. It isn't a super phone or cutting edge smart phone but really serves my purpose perfectly.

I have tmob and no intention what so ever to switch to at&t, but I called today anyways b/c I'm very eager to see it in person, and sure enough the person who answered had no idea about this phone until I told him it was supposed to come today. He had to go check lmao... You would think the manager or supervisor would at least make them aware of it... jeez...

They are making 2 bucks an hour they don't care about you or your stupid new blackberry. The fact you are on CB.com already means you know exponentially more then they do. When I bought it 3 employees had no idea wtf i was talking about it.

I wonder why AT&T is treating the Pearl like an afterthought? Only one color option, and priced way out of line and out of a decent sales potential?

Are they really that hard up on trying to push the Torch?

I guess I should know the answer to that.

I really like the device but I couldn't go back to OS5 and that full retail price is fu@king ridiculous...

What's up with the retail price? In Canada it's only $329 to buy out and $0 with contract. Canadian $ is on par with US right now. You might as well hit up north for a visit and get one for half the price.

Because of a combination of small form factor suretype and it's speed this is literally the ONLY phone I can use. I would pay really any amount for this and AT&T knows this. I shall OBEY! Btw all of the issues I had with my newegg version don't appear on this one. Such as the sticky keypad and the light bleeding through the screen edges.

A good suretype user on a pearl beats any good qwerty keyboard user.

    PI you are so right.

The keyboard for me is a god send, it's like second nature. I can crank out paragraphs without even looking. Once you get suretype you will never go back.

God, the HUGE picture makes the phone look even better.
I might have to get myself a 8130 to satisfy my craving.
    Can the 8130 handle OS5?

The 81xx series can barely turn on, slow and dumpy. It does not do OS5. 64mb of ram for the fail! I had one for 5 years!
