Both I and my friend have a half dozen 8220 flip phones and, despite strong wifi signal, any of the phones on at least several different wifi hot spots randomly go silent, and often eventually drop the call. This appears to happen on longer calls, but it may be just the chances increase with call time.

Any ideas on whether this issue is specific to the 8220, and if so, which other model(s) are more wifi reliable. We love this flip phone size, built-in protection, "face-fit", and nice large clock on the outside, and are thus quite disappointed that no new flip phone seems to have wifi!

Could be the age of the phone, perhaps it's not 100% efficient at this point in it's life cycle.

Sorry to say the same issue occurs with other models. The phone is only part of the equation; there's also the individual hotspots you connect to, and T-Mobile's Wi-Fi Calling infrastructure.

FWIW I found the 4.6.0.278 OS to be the most stable one for Wi-Fi Calling on the 8220. The later 4.6.0.305 OS was sluggish, and the 4.6.0.308 OS was slightly buggy.
