    So...

I tried out a blackberry curve about 6 months ago. I tried it and didn't like it too much, so I switched back to my pearl 8100. I did the whole device swapping thing, so all of the files were converted from one to the other, etc. Well, apparantly the encryption was set and now there is a chunk of pictures that remain encrypted via the curve that I returned (and wiped), and even the device itself wouldn't de-encrypt these files. How do I remove the encryption so I don't lose them forever?

    Thanks,

    Kyle

If you have a card reader, try putting it in the reader and reading it on a PC.

I did that... If I just delete the .rem, will it corrupt the file or will it remove the encryption?

Had the same problem........turn off encryption and rename files from the phone. Worked great for me.
Except for the fact that you have to rename all the pics that were encrypted!
