Strange Voicemail problem with UMA and local area code
I've been having this problem for over a month now, and T-mobile has not done anything but give me 350 extra minutes for the 6 hours I've spent on the phone with them.
Maybe some one HERE can help.
My problem is, if someone calls me from the area code 312, 773 or 847 (all Chicago area codes) and my phone is in UMA mode (the t-mobile VOIP service). Then they get this message
YOU HAVE REACHED THE VOICEMAIL SYSTEM... IF YOU HAVE AN ACCOUNT ON THIS SYSTEM PRESS STAR... IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO LEAVE A MESSAGE ENTER THE TEN DIGIT MAILBOX NUMBER
If you enter the 10 digit mailbox number you get my VOICEMAIL...
My cell phone is a 347 area code but I am currently living in 312 and most of my friends and family live in 313, 773, and 847....
So you can understand my fustration with them having to dial 20 digits to leave me voicemail.
This is what T-mobile has done
1) turned off voicemail turned it back on
2) switched sim cards
3) turn off account and transfer account information to NEW account number
4) created work tickets but forgot to submit them
5) created work tickets but never followed through
6) created work ticket said they solved the problem and would call me "today or tomorrow" and never called me or solved the problem (now 4 days later).
This problem started on or around Nov 7th
Since Tmobile doesn't seem to have a clue and doesn't seem to care I figured I would ask here. They have suggested I by a new blackberry but I told them any new phone will NOT be purchased on the t-mobile network.
