I find that my BB does not run as fast as other BB pearls either on the same network, Att&t or verizon.
Is this just because of my carrier att&t, or is it something that can be fixed on my phone that i'm unaware of.

I don't have an answer. But, your font size is almost impossible to read on a BB.

Check your free memory vs. the other phone you are comparing to. I am willing to bet you have less free memory and have more applications loaded.

actually i have very minimal apps on my phone & i have a memory card, which doesn't say much because I hardly have use for it.
the person of which i compared pretty much has any & everything you could think of on their bb. which is neat & why i got my memory card, however if adding apps to my phone is going to slow it down further i'm going to deter.
again, as i stated before, i do not have many apps, or any other added features, yet, but would like to add to my phone, just wondering what could be the slow down.

What they mean by file free is for you to goto Options - Status and report back what it says for 'file free'

    7447468 bytes then.

That could be the problem. Most people suggest that you should have at least 12,xxx,xxx bytes.

Another thing to try is to reset to BB. Just pull the battery and replace it. That should improve your free memory a bit. Do this on a regular basis, to prevent the effects of the BB OS's memory leak from stealing your memory.

You might want to try a program like Quick Pull. It does the same as a battery pull without having to take battery out.

I think we should pull the battery out regularly to free the memory, wont adding one more program add to the list of installed app's and increase memory used.....

No, it takes very little memory. Taking out the battery constantly
Can cause the springs in the battery door to go bad. I get better results with quick pull.

I've also used SoftReset with good results. I'm sure QuickPull does things almost exactly the same.

itsdawnwithanawn, get used to using one of the two methods (either a software solution for resetting your BB, or doing a manual battery pull on a quasi-regular basis). Different people will tell you different things... and your mileage will vary. I started off doing it weekly, but have ended up just doing it whenever my memory gets down to 15MB.

You mentioned that you have a memory card... but have you moved all your ringtones, pics, etc TO the mem card? Its a silly question, but i just want to make sure.

Have you also set your camera to save pics it takes to the memory card, rather than the device memory?

I just remembered this as well. Read it carefully... and it'll help free up some space. After thoroughly reading it... you are at all unsure of what it means... its better to just skip it. Its not worth bricking your BB.

How to Free Up Memory on your BlackBerry Smartphone

    Edit:
Also check this out to remove unneeded/unwanted files/modules. It does the same thing as the above article, just automatically. Be careful tho, you can get into trouble using this program. Use at your own risk. One thing i will tell you NOT to remove is the theme stuff.

I have SoftReset also but I don't think you can find it anymore - at least not OTA. I wanted to give a link to something.
