I just inherited a blackberry from my parents, I was wondering, if I goto tools-settings-security-general-> wipe handset. will that allow the device to still be used as a phone? or do I have to call my provider to reset up the device?
That will delete all of the personal settings, contacts and appointment that your parents added to the device, but you will need to have your carrier register it to your account to get your own phone number on it and to be able to set up your email if you want that.
