a coworker has a 8120 i believe from AT&T and if i am not mistaken, i noticed that when his phone was playing tunes through the media player, when he got txt notifications or whatnot, the media player wouldnt stop playing. is this a setting somewhere.

It will only stop for incoming phone calls. Could you imagine your media player stopping for every text or email? That would drive me nuts.
