I am looking for the same functionality for my 8830. I am not so much interested in recorded live calls, but I would like to use it to archive voicemails on my pc.

Being that BlackBerries are business phones I'm surprised this feature isn't standard in the software. Hopefully they address this issue in OS updates.

Awesome. Thanks for asking again Kamber and thank you Sunkast for the quick solution. My only concern about the website is :

Compatible devices: all 4.2 OS devices like Pearl 8100/8110/8120, Curve 8300/8310/8320/8330, 8800/8820/8830 and all latest BlackBerry models.

No 8130? Or am I missing something .. As usual and probably =p

    8130 runs 4.3... I can't say if it would or wouldn't work.

Kind of off subject but during a call you can hit menu button and create a note, and it saves the time and caller info. Not as cool as recording the conversation but a cool little feature.

    VR+: Voice Recorder :: Products
I just emailed this to the company's support dept. that makes VR+:

< I want to know if VR+ can record phone calls made with a Blackberry.
< I understand that the answer to this question is dependent upon which company you buy your mobile phone service from. I use AT&T.
    This was their response:

Thank you for choosing our VR+.

Unfortunately, recording phone conversations is impossible at the moment, for the
    technical reasons.
When it becomes possible, we will add this functionality to VR+.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,

It boggles the mind that my old VX9800 could do this out of the box but my pearl can't even get software to do it...

    No kidding.

Has RIM not even publicly commented on this situation? What about private comments?

Bringing this thread back! I downloaded and installed VR+. It only records what I say and not the other end. Im still in search for a program that does this.

I download and installed VR+ Voice from Shape Services and after my testing I confirmed that this application does NOT record phone conversations. There are several need settings regarding automatically saving your recordings and even automatically sending them to their website (even making the recordings public, so I imagine it would be useful to record a police officer abusing you). However, three things happen when you try recording and making a phone call: 1.) VR+ pauses the recording 2.) If you resume the recording during while a phone conversation is ongoing then the recording continues to take up space but doesn't record any sound at all 3.) If you start recording after a phone conversation is ongoing then the recording will take up space but no audio is recorded (just dead signal).

So, I am still looking for a BlackBerry application that is actually capable of recording a live phone conversation. I would also like to extend a big F-YOU to the person who hijacked the original topic, and that original topic was to discuss RECORDING A PHONE CONVERSATION, not recording for any other purpose.
