My phone battery died and I plugged my phone into the car charger. When I turned it back on I noticed the wallpaper changed back to default. And then I noticed my phone isn't readin the memory card. What can I do without having to reformat?

I found out how to fix this problem as I had the same issue.
If rebooting the PHONE, removing the batter and card and reinserting both doesn't help, this might.

Your SD Card's Directory is slightly currupted.

The way to fix it is you use your USB cable, and plug your black berry into a PC.

let the PC mount the Blackberry SD Card as a Flash Drive.

You will see a Removable Device that is your Blackberry added under your MY COMPUTER icon.

Right click the Drive and go to Properties, then to the TOOLS tab..

Then go to CHECK NOW, and put a check in "Automatically fix errors"
    and click ok.

Once is scans and fixes the drive.. you can unplug your phone and reboot it again using battery technique.
