I just downloaded auto lock. i turned it on. a message is noe on the screen asking "The applicatio autolock is attempting to access phone logs. Would you like to allow access?" should i put in Yes or No?

Yu should only put 'Yes' if you want Autolock to work . It needs to see the logs in order to determine what state the lock is in.

Why don't you just password your phone and set it to auto lock at like 1 minute or something.
