My phone keeps freezing to a point where I have to take the battery out to reset it (unresponsive)

Except in this state, the camera is active, and keeps showing the viewfinder updated (i.e. it actually changing as if you moved it around regularly)

My OS is 4.5.0.123, what can I do to solve this?

Try taking the SD card out, and using it then. That will eliminate one piece of the puzzle, and possibly the culprit.
