I'm considering to buy Monday a pearl 8120 to Rogers cos I live in Canada ...
I read all the thread I could read about using a pearl without any data plan ... Seems to be possibloe when using Mini opera and change some settings on the phone ...
My questions are these ones:
1- Can I use wifi to check mails, msn and browse the net if with Rogers on a simple voice MY5 plan (NO data plan) ?
2-How to configure the phone to do that ?

I would assume you are buying the device without contract.
#1 is correct to a point. you would only be able to check emails by actually going to the web inbox. Wouldn't be able to use MSN as that's a BB application. Your voice plan has no bearing on your (lack of) data plan.
#2: I think you just use the hotspot browser or download Opera Mini and use it.
Without a data plan you won;t be able to use the BIS features. Like the BB browser, bbm/PIN messaging, and push email.
