I have been trying to upgrade the os on my bro's bb from 4.2 to 4.5. I have upgraded my 8320 and 8900 on various occasions so i'm pretty familiar with the process. I have searched high and low for help and i cannot seem to recover this berry.
I dl'ed 4.5, deleted vendor file, and ran apploader. Everything was fine until I received an error message stating, "app loader is unable to restore backup data." Both my pc and DM do not recognize the phone, so I am unable to attempt to reload or use a backup to restore. I cannot run apploader and choose the Com1 option as stated in the other posts, because that option does not appear in the drop menu. I have also tried CrackMemory but I am unable to select an OS verison. Any thoughts? Help!
