I just got an unlocked T-Mobile Pearl today (used). I can make and take phone calls just fine, but I cannot access the internet at all. I have the data turned on, and I have the Blackberry unlimited plan added to my account. However, the only way to access the internet that I can see is a T-Mobile "Media Net" icon.

Clicking on it gives me a "You are not currently in an area that can handle data communication. As a result, the Browser cannot retrieve any Web pages." I have five bars, and am in the city, so I don't think that can be the real issue. Anything else I have to change settings-wise? Thanks in advance for any help. I did a search, but didn't find anything.

First off, have you registered your device throught AT&T BIS?

If not, do so now.

If so, try sending the service books to yourself on the phone, then do a battery pull.
