I updated to the new OS on the first day I got the 8220 (with .174 Rogers firmware). I can only tell it's working fine, as I don't have much experience with the older firmware.
It includes English (USA), English (UK), French, and some other languages, as well as Traditional and Simplified Chinese.
things that i noticed from the 195 package is that the speed has increased much better.. less lag. the font type on the front of the screeen showing you who you are talking to also increased. there is no themes.. unless i didnt select it.

I know you haven't had it for very long, but are there any new features you have noticed so far? Would you recommend it to other people? Also, is your phone branded and what network are you on? My phones branded/locked to T-Mo and I want to make sure everything is going to work fine there.
I noticed the lag on 180 is horrible (not as bad as my wm6.1 phone), but it's only unbearable when I have a website pulled up on opera and I'm trying to do something, or when I try to play guitar hero.
Also, where do you get it? Do you just go to the BB website and search for the chinese version instead of usa version?
there are no new features that i have noticed. it jsut updates the os and restores all your applications that you had. might have some but i didnt check the box for anything new..
i have a tmobile branded phone.. works good.
i dont think the os will unlock your phone for you..
good luck!
Yes you can downgrade. You have to have to previous Os on your computer and just go through the same steps you take to upgrade. And just make a backup. To answer your my faves question, make sure you delete the vendor.xml file. Go to my computer/c drive/program files/research in motion/apploader/and I think those are the steps. But if I wasn't correct check out the sticky note at the top of the 8220 forum page that talks about the t mobile new OS. There is a part in the instructions that tells you how to delete this file. Once you delete it you can use this Os on t mobile.

i upgraded to .200 but i've encountered a problem. has anyone else had issues with viewing e-mail and texts? it tells me that the bb_messaging_app has failed. i was on .180 and never had this problem. it only started once i upgraded.
i too was having the messaging problem with this version. it was kinda buggy overall for me. wound up downgrading, and will go to .200 later this afternoon.
there was indeed a change in the sms though, it made the gap between your current text and the past text shorter so that they show simultaneously.
