I have 4.5.0.37 right now, I figured I would try this one. I did all the steps correct, but it didn't try to upgrade when I performed a sync. I went to soo loader and it only listed the version as 4.5 with nothing after the 5. Weird.

So then it probably wouldnt be good to put on an ATT phone in the US?
It can be used on any carrier for that model. Its multilanguage. Just delete vendor.xml file. Just follow my instructions on the first post and your good to go.
Did they Fix the camera and indicator light issues with the OS? As well will upgrading to the new OS delete my service books? I no longer pay for a data plan and need the books to be able to MMS.
Hey Garz, have you tested out the functionality of this release? i.e. camera, memory leak, etc...
Thanks for your help and for finding the release from RIM.
Not for the Pearl. Only for the 8310 in which it is solid. According to John Clark, there still is a camera issue on this release that is not fixed until .55. Something about the darkness. I'm sure you 8100 users know what I'm talking about.
Guess Ill be waiting too then even though I really want the new OS. Ive read its faster and it will pair up with my S9 headset. On a side note, does anyone know if you can edit the gain table for volume for the phone?
Forgot to ask again about the service books upon upgrading the OS. Do they get removed and you have to get them again and such as i do not have a data plan any longer
Because I like the phone itself and have no use of a data plan. The phone for what I want it for works perfectly fine.
That running a newer OS does not really matter then except for being able to have a 8GB card. Maybe a couple of other small things. Most benefits of the new 4.5 OS comes from being able to use data.
