My wife has a Pearl 8100 and wants to upgrade to OS 4.2.2 so she can add a specific app (for weather updates) to the phone.

Where/how can I go about helping her do this?

Any help is very much appreciated.

most updated os is 4.2.1.109 from rogers unless you get 4.3/4.5 beta from somewhere (official release 4-9-08).

As I understand it, the current latest version is 4.2.1.109 and that is for Rogers Wireless.

To install device software, do this:
- install the latest desptop manager (v4.3) from BlackBerry
- dowload and install the software version you want on your PC. - Yes
- find and delete the file Vendor.xml in the installed phone update location in c:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\ you will have to search for it because I have deleted mine - sorry.
- read the Sticky at the top of this forum
