Sending pictures to people who have regular phones never seem to want to go through...it just runs the hour glass and then turns to an X...what to do?

How are you trying to send them? If your using MMS, they probably need shrunk down to a size acceptable by their carrier. Use this, it's OTA so go here from your BB browser:
