    i think my pearl is dead and i need to know if there is a way to retrieve or back up my address book from the dead pearl. the battery is fine and i get the red led light for 5 seconds and then everything dies. when i plug into the desktop manager, the back up and restore options are grayed out. thanks.

    If you can't select or it automatically do a back up in DM, you could be in trouble. Had you done a sync with Outlook?
