I had a pearl 8120 with major trackball issues (would not detect that it was being pressed) so I took it to Manx Telecom (My Provider) who took one look at it and said they'd give me a replacement. 1 MONTH later, they finally had one in stock, so I went to pick it up.
To protect it's beauty I bought an otterbox. My baby has already been through a dust filled loft but she still looks new if I take the otter off.
Also, the replacement came with no battery, is this normal?

Yeah, it's normal to not replace the battery. You're supposed to keep your current one.

no battery and no battery cover... I got my warrant exchange and to my surprise they gave me a battery cover but no battery (which is totally normal)

    Good idea
I was hoping I'd get a second transflash but I didn't. My carrier rang me and told me to bring the battery because I'd need it.

Any particular reasoning not to send a new battery along with the replacement? Or is this one of those we give you refurb replacement for your faulty brand new BB things I hear about. I'm just glad that hasn't happened to me the few times I have had to replace a phone with sprint. I'd be outraged. But anyways just curious.
