The LCD in my Pearl 8120 was bruised, so I replaced it. I was careful, and made sure that the small ribbon cable was in place. I put the battery in, and the LED glows red for 5 seconds, and then shuts off. I am unable to turn on the BlackBerry. The screen remains black. I have tried messing with the ribbon cable numerous times, but I still only get an LED glowing red for 5 seconds. Is my BlackBerry ruined?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Well, I noticed that I couldn't plug the USB cable all the way into the slot because one of the little white alignment tabs on the back of the LCD was too long. I trimmed that down a bit, reattached the small LCD ribbon cable, and plugged in the USB cable attached to my computer. The LED came on for 5 seconds, then the LCD came on and indicated that there was no battery. I reassembled my BlackBerry, and everything seems fine now. Strange. I don't know what the problem was.
