multitap vs suretype
-
- I just upgraded this past weekend to a 8130 Pearl-Amethyst with Cellular South. I had the 8310 Curve with AT&T.
Some would claim I downgraded.
Cellular South Unlimited Everything (includes BES) $99.99
AT&T BES $45.00 w/voice package; voice plan unlimited is $99.99; unlimited texting for $20.00.
Hmm! $99.99 -vs- $164.99... yeah I made the switch... sorry got off track
Anyway, I am still getting used to the mutlitap.
I like the suretype, but when it comes to making words it doesn't recognize I don't like it.
I have to fight with it just to put in a word (email for exmple). I do NOT like the type and click just to wait for each character to be defined.
I use the multitap, it's just like using any other non PDA phone: Razr v3, Slvr L7, Nokia 6300, Samsung Z720. They're all multitap.

Then just roll the trackball to the left and hover over the letter(s) you want to change. It's actually pretty easy to do. I find myself typing faster on my Pearl than on my 8830 with a qwerty keyboard.10-23-08 07:03 PMLike 0
- SureType is like this scary little tool you just cannot bring yourself to use without looking! LOL
Seriously, the way I learned to take full advantage of the SureType was to just start typing away and not look up. First day or so I had a couple misspelled words, but now it hits everything on key...guess it now "knows" me. Plus, the words I use most come up automatically after the first 2 or 3 letters, which is good for longer words! And it auto-corrects: dont becomes don't, first letters are capitalized, etc.10-25-08 02:13 AMLike 0
