Newbie to the Blackberry I was wondering if it is possible on the 8130 to get a "missed call' tone every few minutes to indicate missed calls?

    Thanks for your help

No, but there is a 3rd party app called BBAlerts that will give you different colored led flashes for that, though.

I went looking for this app out on the web and found a bunch of posts, but no link to the app itself. Anyone have a link for the current version used for the 8130?

    TIA

Sorry to re-visit this but I am still a bit skiddish about loading anything into my BlackBerry. The link that GadgetGeek posted above is to a .jad file, do I just simply use my BlackBerry desktop manager to load the .jad file into my BlackBerry? Is this free or do I have to purchase a key code from somewhere to actually use the program?

Thanks again for your help and patience

You download and install with the Desktop Manager from a PC. I believe it has a free trial - 7 days I think. The program is great though and I've been using it for months. Gives you different colored LED indications for alerts and you can also set reminder tones for emails, calls etc for every 3 or 9 minutes.

Just visit that link via your BB browser, it will allow you to download & install OTA. You'll have a 7-10 day trial period before you have to purchase a license key.

You won't brick your BB with this or Handango. They are trusted application sellers.

A month or so ago, T-Mobile pushed out to all their users a Handango.com icon which self-installed on the BB homescreen which a number of users certainly didn't care for. It was marketing we all despise, but not so intrusive it could not be hidden and ignored.

No, you need to reset your BB about 1x a week regardless. It won't interfere with BBAlerts.

There definitely are reported issues regarding Handangos Download Manager compatibilty with the 4.3 OS. I would be very cautious. http://forums.crackberry.com/f79/bew...-8130-a-12578/
