I read that if you go into explore on the media card you can rename the songs. So I did that under explore, went back look at my list of ringtones, since that is what I changed, but they were not changed. What did I do wrong. I have a 4 gig card and a 8110 blackberry.

A lot of times you have to do a restart to get the media refreshed after you do stuff with it. In short, do a battery pull.

Some files will not allow you to rename them. Not sure why...

A battery pull should show the new song names. The media app is a bit picky on that. It really only scans after a full startup or when you remove/replace the media card.
