    Hi all i have a 8110 and i am trying to get bb maps i have a vodafone 8110,it says in apps that it is on the phone but no icon i have searched the forum and not got a propper answer i have showed all items but it's not there, is there another map program i can use i don't want to use google maps because you need to use wap to download the maps as you go i want a program with the maps already there so i can use the gps so it's all free hope some one knows how to do this thanks all

    Hmm. Did you perhaps inadvertantly hide the application? Try going to your applications list and select Menu>Show all. If that doesn't work, try logging in to your BIS site and resend your service books.

    Go to your carrier's BIS site, and you can resend them from there.

    Couple of things here. 1) unless you have an external GPS
    receiver you are out of luck as the 8320 is not a GPS enabled
    device. 2) Some carriers block the display of the BB Maps icon,
    I think to force you to use whatever subscription app comes
    with your device.

    EDIT: I just confirmed this by installing BB Maps, resent Service Book
    still no icon.

    Hi all a quick update i still can't get it to show bb maps even though it is on the phone.I phoned vodafone but they said i need to pay,i said i just wanted the phone inabled so i can see the bb maps logo but they never understud? so has anyone used a map program that is free to use with the inbuilt gps yet or should i just give up lol thanks all.

    Oh sorry about that. I missed that in your original post.

    I found a way to get the icon to show up. Here are the
    instructions I used to get it to show up on the device and
    now I can run the app if I wish, but I hate BB Maps so its
    getting deleted soon as I am done with this post

    I just did a quick Forum search and could not find anything
    for beyond OS 4.2. Have you considered Google Maps (much better),
    Nav4All (free, turn by turn) or amaZeGPS (also free)
