Help, new to blackberry's and I've tried everything...

I have lowercase edge rather than uppercase, which means I'm not connected to the blackberry server,

I can however use regular browsing.

    1) I am on a Blackberry Data Plan
    2) I have some Service Books
    3) I tried registering in the Host Routing Table, however I don't get a response, and It shows no entries.
    4) Data is Enabled.
    5) When I resend the service books I don't get a notification on the device.
    6) I can make regular calls and the device is unlocked.
    7) Turned it off and on again and contacted my network (O2).
    8) The box does not say Prosumer or Enterprise on it.
    9) I bought the device on ebay.
    10) Reset the OS, Upgraded to O2's software.
    11) Wiped the phone
    12) Removed the battery for a while and tried.
    13) Checked all Sim locks are disabled.
    So please!

    Someone help me out!

Going to try to Downgrade, but that's my last attempt.

I tried downgrading to no avail.

Is there a difference between BIS devices or BES devices, as in one plan won't work the other,

if there is then I definitely have a BES device on a BIS plan.

And since I cannot get a BES plan, the device is useless.

    Can anyone confirm that fact?

Nothing in there answers my question, anyone else?

Are there devices locked only to BES plans, or do all handsets work for both BIS and BES.

From what I've read some users reported the solution was switching Simcards,

So I'm going to try and go to the O2 store tomorrow and see if I can get my simcard tested on other devices.

I'm banking on it being a faulty sim, because if it's the phone, I've just been ripped off.

OK, so they tried my sim in another handset and it worked fine, but they couldn't try another sim in my handset, but it is pretty apparent that the handset is faulty.

Are there any possible reasons for this?
Should I just get my money back?

    Hi Yazan,
SO, how did you resolve it. I have the same problem with Bold 9700. Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Joyson
