Some people use Audacity to load the mp3 and increase the file, then save it and load it back to their phone.
Yes, unfortunately the Call Ringer does not play nearly as loud as the Media Player. Best bet as suggested, is to tweak the volume of your Ringer file(s) using an editing tool such as Audacity.
