So my wife finally decided to give in and get a Blackberry Pearl. I am trying to get a few apps installed that she likes that I have on my Curve. I am looking at the file free memory and I can only get it to just over 10mb even after deleting the unused apps that came on the phone.

What is the ideal file free memory on the 8130? What is the bare minimum? I want to add the apps she likes but worried it will run slow for her.

I run a bunch of apps on mine and run at 21m free memory, I leak memory when I leave apps like viigo running all day, but even then, I might lose 1m a day....when I finished stripping down the preloaded stuff that I didn't want/need I was over 26m, easy.
Do both of these and your wife'll be fine.

I believe most people say 12mb but I had my first 8130 running without a hitch at 8 and 9 and even sometimes down to as low as 7.

Maybe install soft reset and just have her run that if it freezes up. My new pearl, with basically all of the same apps and even some extra stuff has 19..?

I know for a fact that if you delete the sample video and all of the preloaded wallpapers you will free up a lot of space
