i tried search the forums first, just in case & came up with NOTHING. so if i just missed it, sorry =/

is there an easier way to insert contacts from the address book into an SMS message without having to first go into the contact, highlight it, copy it & then paste it?

From the SMS, press menu and add recipient.

If it is your number, you can type "mynumber" and the autotext will convert it for you.

Don't know if it will help, but it is something.

    bah!

i guess copy & paste it is? that's really lame. even your basic phone will let you insert numbers into a message!

Wow...I'm used to my old Palm Pilot where it was easy to insert a phone number from my address book into any other application. It's hard to believe that the only way to do this on the BB is the clumsy copy and paste. They really need to update this.

Go to your address book, highlight the contact you wish to text, press the menu key, scroll down to SMS. Works for mail and MMS too. Or, open the contact, scroll to # or email you wish to correspond with, press the trackball, select the action you wish.
