    Its about a quarter the size of your SIM, and under the battery.

    ok, i went out and got a media card. now my question is with my phone locked will it automatically save any media that I have on there

    No, but you'll find it handy once you've got it up and running again. I'm amazed with the limited memory of a Pearl you weren't having a lot of issues with lost messages, etc. if you had media on your BB memory.

    But it won't save it to the device. You would have to put it in the memory card. Before.
