I have a 1 gig..Sd card, and I want to format it because thats the only way I can use it with my Pearl...
is it possible for me to do that on the computer??

On the screen where you see these settings, press the Menu key. "Format Card" is an option on that menu.

Try removing the card and reinstalling it, in case it just didn't get seated properly. If you have a microSD to SD adapter, you can also try to format it in your PC. As pltaylor alluded, it is possible you have a defective card.

That would be consistent with my thought that perhaps you just need to reseat the card. It is also possible that while it once worked, it no longer does.
