i want the sound when you get a text message to be a beep, how can i do this?

Surely BB has a built in Beep that will be sufficient for your needs, but when you go to Profiles you can scroll down and Click Advanced. Selecting the Profile set as Active you can the press the blackberry button and choose edit. Goto the SMS text or Email you want to beep different. Scrool down to ring tone and click on it. This will bring up a list of all the internal options, Browse up at the top of the list will allow you to pick an MP3 or something.
