This is clearly because I am new, but can I change the volume on the phone by not going onto the phone.. like I want to just be able to press the volume buttons on the side like any other cell phone I have used before this... help!!!

There is a volume rocker on the right side of the device. While you are in call you can change volume, when out of call you cannot. It will remember the call volume from last call if you set it to do so...

*EDIT* Most other devices I have used did not change the volume when using the side volume keys... it would change the "Profile" for the ringer, etc! To get this done on your Berry, go to Profiles from the Home Screen!
