How can I import Palm contacts/calendar to the BB?
- I know the quick answer is to sync with Outlook, but I don't own Outlook. I used Palm Desktop to sync my Palm Centro's calendar, contacts, etc. How do I get that data out of there and into the BB without Outlook?
I've tried importing a CSV file through the Intellisync deal, but it doesn't work.

- Hey MisterB, I'm assuming you first exported your data out of Palm desktop to CSV. When you use intellisync to import, make sure you click on the options button to specify the correct format of your CSV file.

Thanks02-13-08 10:21 AMLike 0 - I could never get that switch device wizard to work correctly either.
Luckily I did/do have Outlook so I synced the Treo with that and then the BB with Outlook.
I'm not sure how else to help if the switch device wizard is not working and the CSV export/import is not working.02-13-08 10:45 AMLike 0 - OK, I figured it out. As with most things so far with this device, RIM does not make it easy.
The latest version of the BB software does not work with the latest version of the Palm software. No matter what you try with exporting, etc. it just simply DOES NOT WORK. So... I exported a V-card from Palm Desktop. Opened a Yahoo Mail account, imported the CSV file to Yahoo contacts, and then told the BB software to sync with Yahoo for contacts. It worked. Well, sort of. I found this strange problem where if I entered a record in Palm Desktop with just a company name, and no first or last name, that it wouldn't transfer over. So, I went in and made the last name of each record that just had a company name be the same as the company name and it carried everything over.
Man, what a pain. I'm glad to have it in there now, and I'm done with it.
Thanks02-13-08 12:33 PMLike 0 - MisterB, when you went through that synching process, did it also somehow save and transfer the labels you originally marked your contacts with on Palm Desktop?
Otherwise:
Does anyone out there know how to synch from Palm Desktop into Blackberry and/or into Gmail AND be able to save the labels attributed to contacts on the Palm system? Or is there no way around losing the labels and having to manually re-categorize all your contacts on each system you synch into?
Lost in the Sync!05-31-08 07:09 PMLike 0
