I'm having a couple of problems with my 8100. Trackball is dying, I tried cleaning it and that didn't really help much. Also, the battery door doesn't want to stay on anymore for some reason. Basically what I'm looking for is someone who has a retired 8100, who'd be willing to donate it. I don't have alot of money to get mine back up to par, so whatever you can do would be greatly appreciated. Mine is the T-Mobile red version. Just email me directly, it'll be easier. Trackballs and back doors are under $10 on ebay. Doors are $5-6 and I get trackballs for $7 shipping included

my backdoor broke too (so it falls) so i used transparent tape made it into a circle and it works like a charm.

Order a new housing. I ordered one on ebay for 20 bucks and it came with the tool to remove the screws. There's a video on youtube that explains in detail removing the housing. All in all it was a very easy process and the new housing is mint.
