Hey all, I'm new!! Stumbled upon this site when trying to find any kind of help.

Ok, so I have a pretty new Blackberry 8100 Pearl, Service T-Mobile. I dropped it on cement on Saturday, and the device turned completely off. I figure no big deal, pop the battery out, put it back in, and turn it back on. Well I try that, and the white screen comes up with an hourglass icon. Then the hourglass fades away and all I'm left with is a white screen. I try again to turn it on, and now the little indicator light on the top right of the phone is just red. It's not flashing or anything, it's just got a red light on. I even tried taking the SIM out and putting it back in but no go.

Has this happened to anyone else? I am surprised one fall would completely kill my phone. I'm dying here because I can't use my phone right now, and I don't know if T-mobile is going to repair my phone due to me dropping it.

Any help is appreciated..I am going crazy here!!!!

This is something that someone sent to me the other day, because my pearl just did the same thing. Hope it helps!

Plug it into your computer, back it up, and do a fresh install onto the BB. The TMo people can put you in touch with a BB specialist who can walk you through it too.

    Thanks for the tips
Nothing is happening when I plug my blackberry into my computer!! I tried following both those ways to reload the OS onto the phone. However, my computer is not even recognizing my phone.

I have no idea what to do. This is so frustrating.

Hey, call T-Mo support (611 I think) and have them connect you to a Blackberry tech. Your computer isn't going to recognize your phone (mine didn't either) but you can (probably) still do the reinstall. Good luck!
