Every time I try to add a contact to my BB Messenger it sends the request to the person's email. And I do not even have a "Request Using PIN" option to add from.

I go to my BB Messenger - click menu - Add a Contact... - I scroll up to [Use Once] - and there all it says is "email: "

What am I doing wrong? Are my settings wrong?

Do you have a data plan? There is a problem today with BBM, and try a battery pull too.

I have the new bbm now so its different, but if i remember correctly when you click add a contact use once and hit the BB button you can choose pin. Also you can add the pin to the contact via the address book and select their name and BB button and add via pin. Outage isnt affecting using a pin to request but it will mean it wont go through till later more than likely

it goes under the email tab its normal just enter the pin and hit ok it will work have that for mine as well

i had that problem til i got the new bbm, maybe jsut get the new bbm?
