i'm trying to plug in my blackberry with the usb cord so i can download the colorpearl LED ball thingy and i dont know where to send it to...i use window's vista (and hate it!!!) but yeah i'm having troubles, i dont even know where to find my phone on my computer once i've plugged it in haha.
If you have the Desktop Manager software installed on your PC, and you have the ColorPearl ZIP file downloaded, then carefully follow the instructions in the link for Desktop Manager Installation.
Go to where you D/Led the zip. "Extract all files". Then connect the BB via USB. Open Desktop Manager. Select Application Loader, then select Add, Navigate to the .alx file that you just extracted from the ZIP. Select Next, and follow the prompts.
I have a laptop with vista and couldn't get the Blackberry software to cooperate either. Luckily I still have a computer with XP. I had to use that computer to install the colorball on my pearl. I was also unable to do the OTA install with the colorpearl program from the geek and the proud. Mac's don't work either!
I don't believe colorpearl has that option. Just solid colors. Other trackball changing apps can do that, but not free ones. Pimp My Pearl is available at Handango for about $5.00, and has several more options.
