I am trying to get my 8100 up to date, add some music etc. When connecting to the computer (with a USB cable), I first get the message "Found: Blackberry Smartphone" and right after that the computer starts to make noises as if you connect and re-connect (y'know: dingdong, dongding, dingedingedong etc...) and gives me the message about problems with the 'new hardware', what's the problem? anyone any ideas???????
see i just had the same problem last night. the only thing with me is i had the phone connected to my computer the time before with a different usb cable but i lost it. it shouldnt make a difference whether or not its new or not, right?
I got through by doing exactly what it says in Blackberry 101: Lesson 12: "How to install applications on a nuked blackberry", I got everything working now; lost my old stuff though. I guess you want to make sure you are not using a damaged cable before you do all this.
