hi guys .. i'm a bit new with BB (a month) and i have downloaded GoogleMaps via google.com/gmm using my BB .. it installed ok but when i'm trying to run the software, it simply got stuck .. i tried rebooting my BB and run the program, but to no avail .. is this normal? or do i need to have an enterprise account?
yeah, i think it's time for me get a data plan .. i tried redownloading the said application with the same result .. does that mean if i use the built-in messengers, it won't work?
i'm just downloading it via normal GPRS connection from my local telecoms .. so downloading the applications is about $2 ..
GMM 2.0.3 is working fine on a Verizon 8830 with BES in Central Florida this evening. Do you have a full-time data connection? I'm not sure what GMM would do without the ability to d/l its maps as needed, but hanging up the bb might be the result.
the application won't run .. darn .. i think i need to have indeed a good BES Data Plan .. i am actually communicating with my provider as of writing .. anyway, i'll just wait for further results ..
OK I updated my 8310 yesterday to DM 4.3 and my BB software to 4.2.2.194. I am on a highspeed Rogers EDGE data package. I have reinstalled Google Maps Beta 3 times and every time I click on the BB icon I lock up. This worked 100% on my older software scheme. Can someone tell me what the issuse is and how to resolve it please. I travel alot and need to maps with GPS locator on it. Thanks again.
Hi, I have 2.3 memory so I am fine. Tried reloading and rebooting but no luck. I got BBMaps loaded and the mapping feature wont post a map for me either. I can get a fix though. Does this help you in any way figure my problem? I wish now I had not installed the new software.

If you did what Pete6 told you to do, and the answer you got is 2.3MB free memory, then your memory is much too low and you will very soon have other problems, such as losing your call logs and text messages without warning. Do a forum search for 'Optimize Memory' and you will find the link to John Clark's procedure. Performing that procedure successfully will fix a host of problems you have, or are about to have.
